Details and Schedule

The workshop will be held in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) building, room 1200 and registration will start at 8:30am.
The workshop will be done at 5pm
Lunch will be provided. Please let Sandrine Martin know if you have any food allergy or requirement.

Street Address for the NC27 parking lot: 1226 Murfin, Ann Arbor, MI

From Plymouth Rd, Westbound:
• Turn Left on Murfin Rd
• Go straight at the stop sign and go downhill
• Enter the NC27 parking lot on the left. Make sure to park in a visitor space ($1/hr payable with credit card)
• Walk across the diag to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) building, where the workshop is held.

From Plymouth Rd, Eastbound:
• Turn Right on Murfin Rd
• Go straight at the stop sign and go downhill
• Enter the NC27 parking lot on the left. Make sure to park in a visitor space ($1/hr payable with credit card)
• Walk across the diag to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) building, where the workshop is held.

From Huron Parkway, Northbound (ie coming from Geddes Rd or Washtenaw Ave):
• Turn Left on Hubbard Ave
• Continue straight (Hubbard St becomes Hayward St) at the next two stop signs
• Turn Left at the next stop sign (Murfin Rd) and go downhill
• Enter the NC27 parking lot on the left. Make sure to park in a visitor space ($1/hr payable with credit card)

This is a 1-day workshop held at the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. It will provide an introduction to MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) and other technologies used for lab-on-a-chip devices and systems.
No previous microfabrication experience is required.

The workshop will include both classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory activities. The agenda will include lectures on:

  • MEMS and microfabrication/micromachining techniques
  • Microfluidics and PDMS based fabrication techniques
  • Other techniques and their applications to lab-on-chip devices
  • LNF capabilities and how to bring a project to the LNF
  • The workshop will include both classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory activities.

    Full registration fee is $200, and discounted registration for academic researchers/students is $100.
    Registration fee includes attendance to the lectures and cleanroom lab sessions, lecture/lab notes, breakfast/lunch and credit towards LNF user fees*.
    * credit of 50% of the registration fee, applicable if the attendee subsequently becomes a user of the LNF.
